The
Musician’s Network MECCA (MNM) is offering a mentoring and
education program for aspiring young musicians ages 7-21. MNM has been
offering performance opportunities for young musicians since 2006, and
has formulated a new-millennium approach to mentoring and educating.
The combination of mentoring and educating is key for instilling
durable and profitable characteristics that positively affect the
maturing process. Ninety percent of MNM’s membership roster
consists of full-time professional musicians that have endured the
ever-changing challenges of their profession. These musicians also
understand the urgency of preparing the next generation of musicians to
inherit the industry that has allowed professional musicians a creative
lifestyle for making music that expresses and characterizes human
existence. The MNM members are passionately embarking on this program
and fervently working to see it flourish, and result in young
professional musicians dedicated to progressing the art form of music.
Technology has enhanced the efficiency and
affordability of creating music as well as modifying it, but in some
instances technology has diminished the integrity of the industry. MNM
intends to cultivate intelligent and culturally enhancing uses of
modern technology. The music industry is transforming at an incredible
rate. Because of these rapidly advancing and expanding music industry
technologies, music consumers have many choices for satisfying their
musical desires. These choices challenge musicians to broaden their
technical skills, and incorporate new technologies in their business
ventures. The need for a flexible and adaptable community based
organization with a mentoring and education program to parallel this
rapidly transforming industry is crucial to maintaining a fare and
level playing field for all aspiring and professional musicians.
MNM’s goal is to secure a place for the creative musician.
Creative music in the future will depend on the quality of our
societies’ collective efforts today. As MNM embarks on this very
necessary task, we hope to partner with others who have a love and a
passion for music and our youth. The rhythm of life continues to play
on, the harmony of music allows us to hear it and enjoy it.
